Ernie Bushmiller was the legendary cartoonist behind Nancy, the long-running comic strip known for its distinctive artwork, deadpan humor, and unmistakable style.
A Morning with Ernie Bushmiller brings Bushmiller’s life and creative legacy to the stage at the Mark O’Donnell Theater in Brooklyn, New York.
Written by and starring veteran television comedy writer Tom Gammill, whose credits include Seinfeld and The Simpsons, the production brings together creative talent from television, film, and theater. Owen Kline, known for his independent film Funny Pages, directs, with Lauren Servideo also appearing in the production.
The theater itself has a connection to the world of comedy. Named for playwright Mark O’Donnell, co-writer of the Broadway musical Hairspray, the venue is a fitting home for a production exploring the life and work of an influential American cartoonist.
