At Hancock Peanut Company, we’ve always believed that great peanuts and strong community spirit go hand in hand. When we launched Proud Pirate Peanuts, it wasn’t just about creating a delicious, crunchy snack (though we can all agree they were pretty irresistible). It was about celebrating the tradition, pride, and loyalty of ECU Pirates everywhere. And wow – you showed up in a big way!
From alumni and students to faculty, fans, and peanut lovers across the country, your overwhelming support helped make this a truly special campaign. Every can purchased supported not only a local, family-owned business but also directly benefited the East Carolina University Alumni Association – a group dedicated to keeping the Pirate spirit alive long after graduation.
We’re proud to say that a portion of proceeds from every sale went toward ECU programs that empower students, connect alumni, and honor the legacy of Pirate Nation. Supporting education, community, and tradition has always been part of our mission, and your purchases helped us bring that vision to life.
Whether you picked up a can for tailgating or, to send to a fellow alum, or just to enjoy a top-tier Virginia peanut roasted with pride, you became part of something bigger. Your enthusiasm reminded us of how special this community is – and how powerful it can be when we rally together.
